Put Comfort Away If You Want To Remain Young
September 30, 2008

Arkawa and Gins are two NY-based architect-poets who have some very out-of-the-box ideas about how a house should be! For starters, they feel that comfort should not be given too much importance when doing up your home.
As per them, a house should offer challenges to make its inhabitants young and healthy. If you share a tentative relationship with your environment, you can actually reverse the downhill course of human life.

Giving shape to their ideas, the two fellas have designed what they like to call Reversible Destiny Lofts in the Mitaka area of western Tokyo. Complete with uneven flooring, oddly positioned power switches and outlets, walls being painted a dizzy of colours, a tiny exit to the balcony, a transparent shower room and more, this house will keep your balance, physical strength and imagination on alert.
For those intrigued by the concept, the two rental units are available for rent at 220,000 and 250,000 yen per month. A bit pricey but short-term stays can b arranged too.
