Bahar Shahpar’s Fall 2008 Collection: Chic and Eco-Friendly

NY Fashion Week is underway and a look at the less glamorous yet artistic designers is important, especially for those looking for eco-friendly sustainable designs. Bahar Shahpar’s Fall 2008 Collection is chic and practical, perfect for the fashion conscious active woman of today. Bahar incorporates organic cotton, silks, tweeds, organic merino wools and combinations of all these in her designs.
Bahar’s silver Dinner Dress (100% silk heavy crepe) appears the best of the fall collection. The silhouette is simple and the puffed sleeves add a touch of girliness. The Runabout Dress (organic cotton, wool, eco-dyed crepe jersey) is another simple babydoll dress that caught my eye. The chemise, coats and tunics may not be glamorous and scream haute couture but the designs are appreciable and sustainable.
