Virtual Mirror Lets You Try On Clothes Virtually

August 29, 2008

“Mirror, mirror on the wall! Would this dress fit me at all?” You may soon be asking questions like this to a mounted mirror as a famously beautiful witch once did in a fairy story (she would have if this new gadget is her lost mirror!). Introducing the virtual mirror that would send changing rooms with four-sided mirrors packing and to the bins. The virtual mirror will give you an image of you wearing the outfit you wish to try on, without requiring you to actually put it on.

If the Virtual Mirror can work out all the technological glitches it is currently experiencing, this mirror would become a sensational revolution in the art of shopping; an art that is innately mastered by every woman. It would save you loads of time, wiping out the many minutes and hours spent standing at queues and trying on outfits that obviously don’t fit you. The user has to put on a comfortably fitting t-shirt and choose a design by placing the design logo on the t-shirt. The motion of the user would then be tracked by the mirror and an image would be displayed of the user in the desired outfit. However, the Virtual Mirror is still experiencing problems in trying to create a realistic image of t-shirts, shirts or sweaters. The mirror uses composite algorithms to generate 3D images offering the illusion of wearing the clothes.
