Changing Fashion Trends: Emanuel Ungaro
March 28, 2008
The vitality and the frequent changes in the fashion trends can be clearly witnessed in the history of the fashion house of Emanuel Ungaro. The founder of the fashion tag was interested in displaying the identity of woman as feminine. the apparels of the models gave woman a feel of being different and sensual, but not extra ordinarily bold.
When the responsibility came on the shoulders of Giambattista Valli, he walked on the similar lines but suffused the silhouettes with frills and prints of flowers. The rough edged dresses gave a stunning and attractive appearance to the fashion statements. The picture on the left shows his style. The reign in spring ‘05 came to Peter Dundas, who embeds the Ungaro woman with bolder materials like leather and sequins. The woman (in middle) turned out to be fiercer but still had the feminine charm. With the coming of Esteban Cortazar, the entire trend of the fashion under the house has changed to extremely brazen and bizarre styles which display a love for dresses which are asymmetrical and theatrical style. But, the innovative designer is still rooted in the earlier essence and has displayed this in the fall ‘08 collection which is suffused with the love for womanly appearance that the founder adored. The collection has a variety of ruffled apparels in grays and pinks. Pink, for him, is the ultimate color of innocence and womanhood. Just have a look at the tremendous change in fashion trend ascending from 2001 collection to that of 2008.
